The Shitalakhya River is a significant water body in the vicinity of Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh.
This tour will last 6 to 7 hours, and we can start the tour whenever you want. In the tour you will visit the locations listed place below after your tour guide picks you up from your designated location or hotel.
Tour Duration
At 9 a.m., your guide will pick you up from the location you have designated, and you will head toward Demra Ghat, where our boat will be waiting for you. The journey to the boat at the River Shitalakhya will take 45 minutes.
As soon as you board, the boat will begin cruising up the river, and tea and snacks will be provided. There are plenty of things to do along this river and its bank that will satisfy your desire for photography. You will enjoy watching the engine boats tend to the seasonal fruits, vegetables, and many other things. You will witness fishing using various net and trap types. You will also get to see how the people who live by the riverside make a living. We won't go over every scenario that could occur so you can enjoy yourself and find those out for yourself.
We plan to anchor our boat in Murapara, after 45 minutes. There, you will have the opportunity to visit an old landlord's home that has been transformed into a college or educational institution. It was an administrative division under the British government, headed by the British Landlord in the area. This diversion will take an hour of your time.
We will then carry on up the journey until lunch is ready. Lunch will be served at 1:00 pm. If you'd like, you can swim before that in a convenient location.
On the way back, we will arrive at the well-known village of Ruposhi at about 3:30 pm to see the Jamdani weaving. You can witness the production of jamdani here, and you will undoubtedly want to take some home as a memento.
You will return to Demra Ghat at approximately 4:30 in order to resume your journey back to Dhaka. Arriving in Dhaka by 5:30 p.m.
